Refund Timing Requirement

All refund requests must be submitted at least 60 minutes prior to the printed showtime on your ticket confirmation.

Once a showtime is less than 60 minutes away — or has passed — tickets are no longer eligible for refund. No exceptions.

Fastest Way to Get a Refund

The quickest and easiest way to process your refund is to:

  • Use the “Refund Tickets” link within your ticket confirmation email, or
  • Log into your Account Profile on the CMX website or mobile app and request a refund from the tickets section in your account area.

Refunds for online purchases cannot be processed at the theater box office. If needed, guests may also email: cmx-cinemas@cinemaplus.com (requests must still be received at least 60 minutes prior to the showtime printed on your ticket confirmation).

Credit/Debit Card Refunds

If you choose to have your purchase refunded back to your original credit/debit card:

  • Convenience/booking fees are non-refundable.
  • The ticket price (excluding booking fees) will be refunded to your original form of payment.

Before completing your purchase, please carefully review the movie title, showtime, location, seat selection (where applicable), and ticket quantity.

Refund to CinemaCash™ (Recommended)

Guests may choose to receive their full refund as CinemaCash™ stored value instead of a credit/debit card refund. When selecting CinemaCash™:

  • Booking/convenience fees are refunded for CinemaCash™ refunds.
    The full transaction amount (including booking fees) is transferred to your CinemaCash balance.
  • CinemaCash can be used for future online purchases of tickets and concessions (where offered).
  • Tickets purchased with CinemaCash cannot be refunded back to the original payment method. Purchases are refundable back to your CinemaCash balance and those balances do not expire.
  • Online Tickets purchased with a CMX gift card may be refunded to CinemaCash.

R-Rated Films Policy

Tickets for R-rated films may only be purchased by guests who meet the age requirements outlined in our Ratings Policy.

If a ticket (including an online purchase) is made for an R-rated film by a guest who does not meet the required age for admission, standard refund policies apply.

Guests who arrive at the theater for an R-rated film and do not meet the age requirement:

  • Will receive a refund only if the request is made at least 60 minutes prior to showtime, in accordance with our standard refund policy.
  • Will not receive a refund if it is within 60 minutes of showtime or after showtime has passed.

Please ensure that you meet the age requirements before purchasing tickets for R-rated content

Age Requirement Policies for Select Locations

Some CMX locations have unique and location specific age requirement policies. These policies must be reviewed and accepted before completing any online purchase. Guests are responsible for verifying that they meet all age requirements for the selected location and showtime.

Standard refund policies apply; Guests who arrive at the theater for Age Requirement Policies for Select Locations and do not meet the age requirement:

  • Will receive a refund only if the request is made at least 60 minutes prior to showtime, in accordance with our standard refund policy.
  • Will not receive a refund if it is within 60 minutes of showtime or after showtime has passed.

Please ensure that you meet all applicable age requirements prior to finalizing your online purchase.

Box Office Policies

The box office may exchange tickets (online or in-person purchases) before printed showtime.

  • The box office may issue refunds only for tickets originally purchased at the box office, and only on the same calendar day of purchase.
  • Tickets purchased with a CMX gift card may be refunded at the box office within the timelines above.

Third-Party Purchases

Tickets purchased through third-party platforms (Fandango, Atom Tickets, etc.) must be refunded directly through the original seller. CMX does not have access to third-party payment systems.

Additional Policies

  • For R-rated films, please refer to our ratings policy.
  • For Age Requirement Policies, please refer to our Location age policy.
  • No outside food or drink permitted.
  • Oversized bags are not permitted. Please speak with management regarding special circumstances.
  • Service animals are welcome in accordance with ADA guidelines. Emotional support animals and pets are not permitted.
